During the coming summer, 2007, the VATT is undergoing significant upgrading and service. These include disassembling the telescope to re-aluminize its primary mirror, continuing investigation and improvement of the mirror support system, and re-configuring the computer network and cabling.

VATT Scheduling Rich Boyle, chair of the VATT Telescope Allocation Committee, schedules the observing runs on the VATT. In addition to Vatican Observatory astronomers, regular users of the VATT include astronomers from the University of Notre Dame, Wheeling Jesuit University, Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory, University of Arizona, Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University. Students from these universities accompany the researchers and have the oppourtunity to use the VATT for their investigations.
